And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Our story

A man and his father were fishing on a pier. As the man was casting his lines into the water, his father looked at him and said, “Son, let me show you how to fish.” And with that statement, he jumped over the rail and into the water. After a few moments he came up out of the water with an armful of fish and said, “If you want to catch some fish you have to get in the water.” It was then that the man realized that he was dreaming and that there was a message for him in that dream.

Hebron Fellowship Baptist Church was born out of this God inspired vision given to Pastor Daryl J. Vining, Sr. A foundational vision that has set the stage for the work being done at HFBC. The first service was held August 21, 2005. Just as with any God ordained purpose there where obstacles along the way, challenges to be met, souls to be saved and people willing to serve. Since those early days HFBC has grown spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally while spreading the gospel message. We are continuously working to build up the kingdom of God. Hebron Fellowship is a place of refuge for many and continues to strive to fulfill the objectives to being fishers of men for the glory of God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, was written by men divinely inspired and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instructions. We believe the Bible has God for its author, salvation for its end and truth without any mixture of error for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God will judge us and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian faith and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.   2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • God

We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God. We believe He is an infinite and intelligent Spirit whose name, characteristics and attributes are displayed by His Names: Yahweh (self existent), Jehovah (Lord and Master), and El Shaddai (The Mighty God). He is the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth, who is worthy of all creatures’ highest love, reverence and obedience. Genesis 1:1-31 and Mark 12:30

  • Trinity

We believe that in the unity of the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in every divine perfection and distinction, but are in agreement with their offices in the great work of redemption. John 1:1-3 and Matthew 28:19

  • Fall of Man

We believe God originally created man in His own image. Man was innocent and free from sin, but with the ability to reason and make decisions for himself. He voluntarily yielded to the temptations of Satan, thus rebelling against God. Consequently, man fell from the Holy state he had and was placed under condemnation. Hence, all humankind born of Adam, as soon as they are capable of moral action, become transgressors and are condemned without defense to death. Genesis 3:6-24 and Romans 1:16-22

  • Salvation

We believe salvation for sinners is based on grace through the mediatory office of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. By ordainment of the Father, Jesus freely took upon himself our nature. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was without sin; he fulfilled the law, suffered and died upon the cross to pay the sin debt for sinners. He was buried and rose again on the third day and ascended to His Father. He now sits at the Father’s right hand as our High Priest, making intercessions for all who believe. He is the only mediator of the church and is sovereign over the universe. Ephesians 2:8, John 3:16, and Philippians 2:6-11
